Home / EV
Tesla isn't the only EV people around here drive. I also diagnose and repair Fords, Hyundais, Kias, GMs, VWs, and others at your home or work.
Most EVs have the same handful of weak spots. The brakes barely get used, so near the coast they rust and stick. They're heavy, so tires and suspension wear faster. The coolant that keeps the battery and electronics at the right temperature still needs service. And a weak 12V battery can set off warnings that look like the whole car is failing.
Warnings like "Service vehicle soon" or a high-voltage isolation fault need proper diagnosis, not a reset. I scan the whole vehicle, check the data, and tell you whether it's something I can fix, a recall, or a job for the dealer.
Less than gas cars, but not zero. They still need tires, brakes, cabin filters, coolant for the battery and electronics, 12V battery replacements, and suspension checks. These are heavy vehicles.
Sometimes. On some models, the part that charges the 12V battery from the main pack is the real problem. A new battery won't fix that. Test before you replace.
Yes, done properly. I'm High Voltage Safety Certified and follow isolation procedures. Most EV work doesn't touch the high-voltage system at all.
