Home / Porsche
Cayennes and Macans that are driven every day, and 911s and Caymans that come out on weekends. I take care of Porsches at your home, with honest advice about what's actually worth doing.
These are the Porsches I see most often. Older Cayenne V8s (2003 to 2010) have plastic coolant pipes under the intake that crack with age. Transfer cases, air suspension, and oil leaks show up as the miles add up. Macans and newer Cayennes need PDK and transfer case fluid service and careful diagnosis when a warning light comes on.
On older water-cooled cars (996, 986, and early 997 and 987), the questions are usually about the IMS bearing, cylinder bore scoring, and the rear main seal. Most of these can be checked on site with a scan, a look underneath, and an oil filter inspection. That tells you a lot about the engine's condition before you put more money into it.
Yes, and I strongly recommend one. I scan for stored faults and over-rev records where the car supports it, check for leaks, and look at the known weak spots for that specific model.
No. That job means removing the transmission and is best done on a lift in a shop. I can inspect the car, talk through the risk for your specific engine, and point you to a good shop.
For tires, brakes, 12V, and diagnosis, yes. High-voltage and warranty work goes to Porsche.
