Mercedes repairs depend heavily on good diagnosis. These cars have a lot of computer modules, and one fault can trigger warnings in several systems. The first step is always a full scan and a look at the data.

Mercedes problems I see a lot

Oil leaking into wiring. On some 4-cylinder engines (M274), oil seeps past the camshaft magnets and into the wiring harness. Catching it early saves the harness.
Oil cooler and oil filter housing leaks on the 3.0 V6 diesel (OM642) and some gas V6s.
Airmatic suspension: leaking struts, a worn compressor, and the car sitting low.
7G-Tronic shift problems from the control plate, plus overdue transmission fluid service.
BlueTEC and Sprinter diesels: NOx sensors, DEF heater and pump faults, and DPF problems.
Battery and SAM module electrical faults, often after a battery was replaced without the car being reset properly.

Classic and older Mercedes

Older models get the same careful approach: test before replacing, and give a clear quote. For collector cars that sit a lot, I can set up regular visits to keep them ready.

Mercedes-Benz questions

Do you work on Sprinter vans?

Yes. Diesel and gas Sprinters, including camper conversions. Common ones are DEF and NOx sensor faults, oil leaks, and electrical problems added by the conversion.

What is a 'Service A' or 'Service B'?

Those are Mercedes' scheduled maintenance visits. I can do them to factory spec with the correct oil and filters, and reset the reminder.

My car went into limp mode and won't shift right. Is the transmission dead?

Not necessarily. On many 7-speed Mercedes automatics, the electronic control plate inside the transmission is the problem, not the gears. It needs testing before anyone quotes you a new transmission.
