Home / Tesla
Out of warranty, waiting weeks for a Tesla service appointment, or just want someone to come to the house? I work on Model 3, Y, S, and X across Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties.
I'm High Voltage Safety Certified. Before working near orange cables or the battery pack, I use the right PPE, isolate the system, and verify it's de-energized. If a job really needs the pack opened or Tesla's own tools, I'll tell you that up front and won't try to work around it.
Older S and X cars are a big part of what I see, because they're out of warranty and owners want someone who will diagnose them before replacing parts. Common ones are door handles, the air suspension, the touchscreen, and 12V problems. Check for open recalls before paying for anything, and I'll tell you if there's a free fix.
No, and I'll be upfront about that. Warranty repairs, recall work, and some software and calibration jobs have to go through Tesla. A lot of everyday repair work, like suspension, brakes, 12V, cooling, alignment checks, and diagnosis, doesn't, and that's where I can save you a trip.
Most of the time, the low-voltage battery or the system that keeps it charged is the problem. I test that first, before anyone suggests replacing expensive parts.
They use the brakes much less because of regen braking, which is why the rotors and calipers can rust and stick, especially near the coast. A brake cleaning and lube and a fluid check every so often prevent that.
